Quality of life. That, and the thrill of knowledge, are the driving forces of engineers. Engineers have had an astounding impact on humankind’s well-being at the macro-level. Improved infrastructure… check. Solar-powered everything… been there.Developing tools for visualizing and measuring biological processes down to the cellular level… done that. And now that these tools have allowed physicians and biologists to dramatically increase their knowledge of the human body, engineers are back for more. The age of biology will be co-written by engineers.
Chaired by Julia Cramer, two distinguished TU Delft professors and astronaut Andre Kuipers will discuss some of the latest technological developments aimed at healing, supporting and enhancing the human body. Technology for healthy ageing, in their smallest and biggest appearance, on earth and in space.
